Nashville and Columbus have been dancing around Hayes and Sproul for some time. Sproul is on the verge of big things in Detroit. Columbus is deep at wing and needed more depth at d on the farm, so the swap makes sense. Columbus' recent deals made acquiring a serviceable pro dman necessary. Carle fits the bill and happens to be American and a Hobey Baker winner. Columbus is a sucker for Americans who played college hockey.
