Tor 2nd in 2015
Colorado was looking to clear some roster space. i was willing to deal the 2nd in a good 2015 draft to get a prospect that is near nhl ready, da costa had a pretty good year in the ahl and should be on the ottawa roster next season

Confirmed
with a few targeted guys in this years draft we needed to clear some roster space. The 2nd should bring a respectable prospect back to us next offseason.

I am not complaining about this deal in any sort of fashion but I am scratching my head once again at the value being placed on Da Costa. This is not the first deal I have seen go through where his value is appeared to be fairly high.
As I say, some obviously see value in him, I just don't see it.

Well I think TOR is taking a shot down the field that OTT clears out the 2nd line in OTT IE(Michalek, Spezza, Hemsky). If they do that DaCosta will have a shot at 2nd or 3rd line duties in OTT.
In any event good for COL getting something decent for DaCosta and good for TOR helping COL recover something from the horrible Stepan trade. I like the way TOR does business here.
