CBJ receives: Max Pacioretty 2014 5th (STL)
STL receives: Gabriel Landeskog 2014 3rd (CBJ)
Not much explanation needed here, two great young LW's, picks used to even out Pac's worth in a scoring-focused league... Good, fast talks with CBJ

Columbus accepts. As much as the organization liked Landeskog, Pacioretty's offensive upside is exciting.

Obviously I'm happy to get Landeskog, but I feel like there's a bit of Pacioretty undervaluing going on in this thread... Kid's only 24, 65 pts last year, on pace for over 70 this year (prorated)... most likely a PPG player for the next few years at least... I see this as a pretty even deal at the moment...

If this was a multi cat league then I agree that Landeskog should have got a decent haul but this is mainly a points league. I dont see a big difference between Landy and MaxPac when it comes to scoring. I think both are good young players and both should be happy with their return.

I don't undervalue patch at all, i think there both capable of equal numbers but when you look at the ceiling on both players Kog is much higher IMO could be 100 point player don't see patch hitting that

I think 100 pts is a stretch for most players in the NHL let alone Landy. In 2011-12 (the last full 82 game season) there was one 100 pt player. If both settle in at 80 pt players (which I think is more realistic for both) then both GM's should be quite happy with their return here. Landy is a great 2 way player with offensive upside (same can be said for MaxPac) but there's no way he is a 100pt player. Even Stamkos hasnt hit 100pts in his career yet.

Columbus is very pleased to have Patches. The kid shoots a ton and has higher offensive upside than Landeskog. I wouldn't normally trade a stud coming off of injury, but I do not see an 80-point ceiling, let alone 100 points. If only Washington would have had the young forward I've been eyeing, I might have gotten him to pay more. That's the way it goes in fantasy. This trade is certainly not in the same category as a few of the lopsided ones that have happened lately. More importantly, both sides are happy.

And there's no way Landeskog ever sniffs 100 points. 70-80 is the most he'll ever get. Patches is in the same boat. I like Patches offensive upside a little more, though.

It's just my opinion... I like Kog more than pacioretty Landeskog had a rough season but had a 52 point rookie season.... 100 points is a stretch but that's what I think his ceiling is. I'm not claiming that he'll hit that next season, he may never hit that but i would bet he has a better career then Pac
