The inaugural draft will take place as soon as the league fills.
After the order has been determined, we will start a quick-slow draft, which involves each team having 4 hours of clock time to make their selection. As of 12:00am (est), we will freeze the draft clock, so people can go to sleep. As of 8:00am (est), the clock will start. The only exception to this rule is if you are OTC and able to pick during the freeze, you may do so, but after making your selection, PM the next person who is OTC, so they will be aware
If things go smoothly, we're looking at 10 days of drafting.
Since the window to draft is only 4 hours, you will have to actively check the site as well as contact-sending a text,PM and or tweet to the next 2 GMs, informing them that you are no longer OTC and that the next GM is.
We all need to embrace this role to make this work. Even if you do not receive a text/pm/tweet, whether due to technology failing us or the GM prior to you is unable to, it is your prime responsibility to follow the draft. Caution: If you don't have the time, don't register. The time to back out is before the draft. Please be respectful of everyone else's time.
If a GM misses their 4 hour window, they pay a severe penalty. They will not intrude upon the next GM's 4 hour window or any other's.
They will be bumped to the very end of the round (last pick), where they will have 1 hour to make a selection. This 1 hour is not free, it will be deducted from their upcoming 4 hour window.[/color]
For example: The NJ Devils exceed their 4 hour window in round 1. They get bumped to the tail end of round 1 (after the team who is last on the draft board) and has 1 hour to make a round 1 selection. Immediately after this hour ends, the team who is first on the clock in round 2 starts his 4 hour window. When NJ's 2nd round pick arrives, he has 3 hours to make a selection. This will keep us on task with the 4 hour window.
In the event that someone picks a prospect - please make sure you have the necessary GP for it to not be a prospect - in error, you will be permitted to correct the error unless your time has ran out. If your clock expires, you will have an opportunity to pick at the end of that round - this will be a 1 hour window and subsequent 1 hour deduction from your next pick. If a GM does not pick in 1 hour, he will have to wait until the next round, when he'll have three hours to make two picks, one of which being the prospect selected in error.
Repeat offenders:
For ex: If NJ misses the 3 hour window (round 2), after already missing his 4 hour window (round 1), he will be a repeat offender who has exhausted 4 hours of clock time back to back. The punishment -- he will not make up these picks until after the entire draft has been completed.. Yes, this would suck if someone missed rounds 1 and 2.
On the other hand, if NJ does make his pick within the 3 hour window, after previously missing the 4 hour window for his preceeding pick, he will have his 4 hour window restored for the next round.
