NSH-VAN Trade
Vancouver trades Mark Dekanich (CLB)
For
Mark Visentin (PHO) from Nashville
Well you're reading that right "VAN"... This is a pretty basic trade of goaltending prospects where NSH gets a G who is a little further up the curve in return for Visentin who all us Canadians hope leads the world jr squad to gold this year after falling short last year.

I accept and NSH pretty much summed it up. I would also like to thank NSH for popping my cherry and being gentle and using lube

Guys I'm really sorry, I've been trying to keep my mouth shut...but this trade I think is pretty unfair. Dekanich hasn't been playing at all this year, and Visentin's talent level is considerably higher. I'm sure Nashville is a good GM, but I hope he knows what he's giving up for an injured, older, less talented goalie. This coming from a guy who thinks Dekanich is decent, but Visentin's shown a lot more.

NYI, I actually agree with almost all your trade analysis...including this one.
Here is a little more insight... I need a 2nd starting G and the CLB starting G is a bit of a mess. If this kid gets healthy he has a shot in CLB. God help me if Curtis Sanford is the answer.
With Visentin I have to wait how long for a shot 2-3yrs at least? How hard are these young goalies to project at the next level? Hard imo. I also have Bunz on the farm and don't be surprised if he turns out to be better than Visentin and may end up being the G for team Canada. Lastly I have 5 of the top 30 picks in the 2012 draft... one may be a G... who knows.
NYI I'm rollin the dice here.

Alright man, sounds good then. Thanks for taking the time to go further with your reasoning. Def makes sense.

I am set for the near future in net so I could afford to lose Dekanich. NSH gets a goalie who might take over the starters role in Columbus and I get a young starter who I can afford to wait on.
