Chicago - Tampa Bay

The Hawks trade Steve Mason and Alexander Wennberg to the Tampa Bay Lightning. In return the Hawks receive Filip Forsberg.



We did this trade cause we are committed to our core of youth. Mason was a goalie we feel we could part with. It was tough to lose Wennberg, but we feel we got a solid top of the line prosepct in Forsberg.

I made this move because I need a goalie and any goalie will do, Mason is about all that was available. Mason will be interesting, I may perhaps still need another, will know by about week 2 weather or not Mason will hold up. I really wanted to hold onto Forsberg but that's how theses things go isn't it.

Grats TBL on getting a goalie and i think he will pan out. Yes im sill one of those mason belivers out there. I like this deal for TBL if mason can pan out half the times he pulls away with this deal. I see shakedown isnt scared off by NSH owning prospects!!
