To Phi: Miller + Michalek + Depres
PHI's analysis: Goaltending uncertainty and injury woes made this deal come into fruition. Invested in the playoff race for this year and remaining competitive for the next forseeable seasons is the objective of the franchise. Gave up quite a bit of futures but that is the price that WPG is looking for.
Weve been working on this deal for a few months. Took a lot of understanding and patience on both sides. Am glad its finally done. Pleasure doing business, Mike. *handshakes*

Winnipeg accepts the deal.
Philadelphia is right it took a long time to make happen. I have committed to an all out rebuild and this is a good step in the right direction:
Miller was very difficult to move, regardless of many said when they tried to trade for him, he is a very good netminder that scores incredibly well. this was one of the toughest pieces i have moved. Michalek is a valued asset but i felt he did not fit the rebuild. I am a Pens homer but done believe Despres will ever live up to his press clippings. Pens coaching staff wants him to tone down the offense and dial up the defense, its my humble opinion he wont be huge in this Offense happy scoring format.
Peters is an up and comer, one of the 3 goalies in Carolina should be on the market soon and im hoping it peters. Pirri is a pure goal scorer and although he plays on the hawks team he will make an impact sooner than later. Nurse is a wild card, im hoping he continues his offensive ways in the NHL soon and the #1, although it will be a low #1 will add to my current picks and allow me to build thru youth and the draft.

Nice move for both IMO... WPG gets some great pieces for its rebuild, and PHI picks up a top 10-12 starting G and some nice complimentary pieces for the playoffs... Good deal

Good trade boys.
For what its worth Mike, I think Darnell Nurse is the best piece your got in that deal. You may not see it today but in a couple years you will see it.
