Sharks trade Milan Lucic + Bobby Ryan + 2nd 2014
To
Penguins trade Patrick Kane
I laked top end talent and feel this is something P Kane brings me. Steep price to pay Forsure but needed a player who is c/w and not yet in prime to build around

Pittsburgh confirms. Hate giving up a superstar like this, but the league has changed and so much my team from finesse to one that can bang and score. 2 days of brutal negotiations and a host of scenarios comes to an end. Good talks Dave. You're one tough @$$ cookie.

He is Chris. But if you look at his history, that production is not every year. He is not consistent. Ryan shows glimpses, but hasn't put up beast numbers in 3 yrs. finger crossed. Two different GMs tried trading him, so maybe there is some truth to that.
Kane is easily the best player. He's a friggin superstar. He puts up 30PPP, not many guys can do that. He is at least a PPG player. Not many can score like him. For a bit this past year, he kept pace with Crosby, he is only 25 and is on a juggernaut team. I'm also taking a risk on Ryan recovering from hip surgery. This could blow up or blow up in my face. Lastly, I was targeting hits because my team from last year was all finesse. I knew I'd have to give up something big to accomplish this. But if you look at HITS+BLKS, it is one cat, not two. Lucic is virtually all hits, not blocks. That is all I will say and reasoned as these talks were taking place. Both of us are taking risks here.

I'm not a fan of this trade. Gave up way too much, especially with H and B now added.

but I also haven't delved deeply into the numbers....but that's my first thought knowing what I do know about these guys, and I do own one in another league and owned Kane last year.

I understand catagories and what Lucic can bring
Kane is the best player between the three hands down and I wanted that I'm now going to call drouin up to fill a roster spot! I will be adding 4 1st round picks this year to fill my minors so moving players for better players works for my roster
Kane has 90p potential I feel very happy about that even though I know I laid a lot to get it

Perk of being commish I guess Given the absolute shit storm that was raised on the weekend, I suggest we refrain from making personal comments or making accusations. Let's be respectful here; otherwise it'll just be another clown show all over again.

Perk my @ss. There are some points of strength and clear weakness. Lucic has 33 career PPP in 7 years. Kane had 25 this past year. I won't even bother to say what he has career wise. I'm not going to go through everything. You guys see names and are overreacting. I don't know who, in their right mind is trading Kane straight up for either player. Damn right if you want a stud like Kane you have to bring some fire power. You would think SJS walked away with a bag of pucks...smh
And some of you complaining shouldn't. I've knocked on many a door the past week.

I think we should veto this trade.....oh wait, sorry, I was thinking back to last weekend and my own trade...my bad lol
We don't need that again.
All in all, I'm sure the two GMs have gone over the numbers and it makes sense.

All in all, I'm sure the two GMs have gone over the numbers and it makes sense. Smart @$$. Yeah, we did. Two friggin days. It took a lot of back and forth. Talks probably broke of 6, 7 times. It's a hockey trade for each team. But again, as I said elsewhere, if people are going to trade, give someone something. He couldn't give me a superstar for Kane, so he had to bring it. If I shared with people the type of offers I got over the years...it would be embarrassing. Hell, Nick and I made the same type of trade, just on a smaller scale and there wasn't a problem with it. But again, the names bring it all out. This is Patrick Kane we're talking about. 25 years old on a juggernaut cup contending team. I already had one respected GM tell me he doesn't think he could have made this trade, meaning trade Kane away.

gotta say I think this is not balanced but ohwell. I think the 2nd rounder in the deal was a bit too much as that will still bring a good player as it is a highish pick.
but whatever it is it is. puts pit in a sick position as he picked up players who fit this format amazing.
