To Colorado: Cody Hodgson (C/W) + 2015 2nd (BUFF)
To Chicago: Anthony Mantha (W) + Samuel Morin (D) + Nikita Zadorov (D)
The rebuild continues in Chicago. While I like Hodgson, I don't love him and just don't want to build my core around him. And I've fairly certain I will be replacing him with a C with my 3rd overall pick in the 2014 draft. My D is embarrassing, so adding Zadorov and Morin helps to stabilize a major weakness. I'm also very high on Mantha, who has developed beyond my expectations. Colorado insisted on a 2nd round pick as the cost of getting this done. I have three firsts in 2015, and another 2 seconds, so I didn't want to let this opportunity go over a pick.
Colorado was very patient and play his hand well, as I tried to pry just about every player off his roster, except Vinnie.
