Well, in short, my D is a weak and old! I needed to make a splash in this area. It hurt giving up a tender, knowing how valuable they are offensively, but feel this trade was for both teams to compete this year. I guess my goalie depth will have to cover for this loss as best it can. A 3 headed monster would have been hard to contend with, but I need balance to move forward. Tough, but solid conversations with Rhys, I think this has been going on a good 2 weeks to get to this point. CBJ is a legit contender in my eyes with this addition. Good luck, Rhys!

Thanks for the kind words, Ian. Columbus needed a second goalie. Howard has excelled at every level and is under contract on a good team for several years to come. As hard as it is to see Hedman go, Howard makes the Blue Jackets a contender.
