Detroit agrees to trade Brandon Saad
Winnipeg agrees to trade 2nd (WPG) 2020.
I need to clear a few spots for draft picks so this works for us both. Fair return IMO for Saad.

That being said sorry but don't think we can yet trade 2020 picks. I think only 18 and 19 years allowed until after our draft

David is technically correct. The rules specify that you can only trade 2 years ahead, and also specifically state that the third year of draft picks listed by fantrax can't be used until after our draft. Although I'm not sure anyone will care, to be honest, lol.

I asked for the 2020 because I saw it was available on Fantrax to ask for.
If we have to shitcan the trade because of only being able to acquire two years in advance then so be it. I can make the same trade after our draft goes through and I am sure Mike is fine with that too. Technicalities.

The league as a whole needs to be mindful and in the habit of dealing picks 2 years at a time, meaning the upcoming draft year and the year after. After we complete our season, our league is renewed in fantrax BEFORE our draft takes place. This creates 3 years worth of picks. Picks for the furthest years out from our pending draft are not tradable until AFTER the draft. And at that time once again, we will have two years worth of picks reflected in Fantrax. |
