Confirm.
NSH doesn’t quite have the horses to be a top tier contender so the opportunity to add one of the top young NHL G in Saros was enticing. Hopefully old man Rinne is toast after this year in NSH...
Prospect depth at C from Vilardi and Norris was also a priority.
Lastly, adding another young power forward in Tuch helps to round out a promising young group.
Best of luck to MTL in his efforts to take home the cup. His roster depth is impressive and he has the pieces to continue to add.

Fun deal to make. When Nashville's 4 possible #1 goalie prospects turn into two elite starters for him, he's gonna own this league for years. Was supposed to be what Price brought when he acquired him, and it's what I'm hoping he bounces back to this year. After that other trade, I certainly couldn't afford to go with Chad Johnson and Anton Khudobin as my tandem...

Brining price home a year later lol...
Wonder if you do the breakdown of those trades when you traded him to NSH and now back what it would look like

I purposely didn't post the comparison, because I think it's clear to all that this past calendar year had certainly brought his value down, and the expectations for this year's Montreal team doesn't help. In essence, though it's the same man, these were trades for 2 players of quite different fantasy value. My 2 cents.

I totally agree, Steve. You still did well in both deals regardless of who the guy is though.

Don't forget some of the guys he got in the first trade were used to land Crosby and Benn. So it's not a one trade match

Trust me I reminded MTL what I paid last year...
I really like the deal I made here to get Saros, Vilardi and Tuch from that bastard.
If Saros is the man next year in NSH with that D I should sleep well at night.
Risky but worth a shot IMO.

Also keep in mind some of what Mike traded was based on fantastic drafting and trading. He pried Samsonov out of me for short-term garbage that I needed at the time. It's hard to look at any one or two deals and see the largest context of things...

C’mon. Everyone knows Mike is crappy at trading. Lol I’m going to imagine ducking as he would likely throw something at me.
