My team was in the basement last year, and this year was battling for the last playoff spot till the final week... Done with trades and management, not by asking to change the rules to fit my team better.

Tried since I have been here to get a goalie as many can attest to so no goalies are not readily available in this league with all due respect

Tried since I have been here to get a goalie as many can attest to so no goalies are not readily available in this league with all due respect Well, I got Mike Smith as a second goalie, and didn't have to sell the farm. I gave up tons to get Price (ie traded Ovechkin), but that's the cost of an elite goalie if you're willing to pay it.... so with all the same due respect back, goalies CAN in fact be had... And I'm surprised that you've been trying to get a goalie all this time and never contacted me, one of the aformentioned owners with 2 starters... EDIT: My bad, you did inquire about Harding when I had him, but you were unwilling to move a C...

Sorry not going to give 1st rd picks and 2-3 top prospects for backup goalies but whatever, said my peace and now done with this I asked for one player, a decent 2nd/good 3rd line C... not sure where you came up with this 1st rd pick plus 3 prospects bullspit... My point is, if I was really weak at, say, goalscoring... then I would do what I could to acquire goalscoring, I wouldn't ask for the rules to change to reduce the impact of goalscoring.

This is for stat changes, league improvements etc not for arguing about who asked for what in deals between two GM's or the price of goalies.

ok ya I understand what you mean... But the discussion we were having was about the ease/difficulty in acquiring goalies, which I think is a very pertinent discussion point when we're considering changing the minimum goalie starts...

That's fine, post an opinion and and give some facts/reasons why you think that way what I'm saying is we don't need pages of GM's going back and forth on who they offered for what player and that sort of thing. I understand your point though.

Back to rule changes!!
As for the goalies: I am one to believe that we should stick with the 2 goalie min start. yes goalies are very highly priced in this league a bit too high right now but in time that will come down. Ive been in a lot of leagues and the one goalie start really is just too easy to come by and the whole sitting on the shutout thing like said early is actually very huge. with only 4 stats 2 out of 4 can make 12/20 owners win each week given hands down. the thought is maybe make offense stats a bit more valuable to outweigh the goalie stats to make goalies less valuable, but then that makes centers as we have it now super hard to get also.. there is a trade off but I think how it is set now is good. I know I have rask and hiller so its easy for me to say this but last year when I won the league I had brodeur, lehner, mason, gustavsson. so I pieced together goalies to get me those starts. it wasn't easy every week with mason being backup, lehner backup backup and so on...
Offense stats: I am not a fan of changing stats as we have been around for 3 years now and we have all built our teams around these stats. BUT I am also for change so the league doesn't get boring. I am not sure we can swap +/- for blocks as that is a stat driven draft stat. but we can maybe switch to hits where it is more of a hit or miss. based on if a player is home or away. yes its easier to predict hits then some stats but it isn't yet a given that someone will give you 5 hits each night. The points total I don't like bc that's a redundant stat with G,A already. we could always go back to the other weird stat in PIM. that's an option.
H2H: not sure how multiple matchups in each week would work but if I get a better understanding id be interested to see what it is. but if you end up playing multiple matchups in a given week I think it lessens any rivarlys that we have.
GAMES PLAYED: this is is a big one for me. I think we should limit this. min GP I don't care about as I feel most play to want to play and get there lineups set. a few weeks I saw lack of doing this due to injuries and what not but overall not a concern. Maxed games played or moved per week I think we should look into. I don't want to go super strict in saying 3 per week as mentioned but what If we started at 5 moves per week. still a lot of moves to shift your farm players up and down, do trades and still pick up FA for injuries.

I understand your point though. that's fair... gonna sound defensive I know, but in total I think it was 3 msgs that mentioned specific deals... to say 'pages' is exaggerating I'd say... Moving on, I think it's absolutely relevant to consider goalie availability when considering a change in minimum goalie starts...

Fair enough, but some teams, including myself, traded for additional goaltending with these parameters in mind... It's like if people were trying to eliminate FOW as a category because some other teams did a better job of acquiring them... Goalies are available, but you have to be willing to pay the price. LOL! Ya, because NO ONE in this league hasn't attempted to acquire 2 starting goalies. I was more then willing to pay, in fact over pay, for an additional starter (I can even forward you some of my PM's sent to GMs in this league laying out my well intended offers that wouldnt get accepted. I keep all my PMs.) but buying a quality starting goalie in this league is next to impossible. When you are offering guys like James Neal along with one of my "backups" for a starting goalie and getting pretty much laughed at, I dont know what else you expect teams to do. My suggestion is simply that, a suggestion. I really dont think that for a league of our size, that it is an unrealistic option and should be investigated further.
