No, we cannot trade them. But you can move the players after the draft if you don't trust the guy you are grabbing 3rd overall.

Question regarding the Yahoo Head to Head point system: I've never used the Head to Head style with Yahoo, so I am wondering if when PTS are compared, does it go by entire team (aka Forwards + Defense) or is it split into 2 categories (Forward pts, defense points). My understanding is that its all of your teams points scored combined vs all of your other teams point combined (and so forth for G and A's as well), which would make sense, but I wanted to double check because it could greatly effect how I use the 5th pick tomorrow morning. It is all.

Exciting as all this draft talk is, we won't be doing one until after we get our final mod - Transaction Mod.

Hocus, another Q. Last time I did a draft similar to this and used Yahoo as the tracker, it wouldn't allow me to change player positions. My pool had drafted based on NHL.com positions, but some were different from Yahoo. This was 2 years ago.
What tool will we be using to determine player positions? For example, NHL.com has Claude Giroux as a Right Wing. If I drafted him, Yahoo fantasy may only make him able to play the C spot (just an example). Or maybe you are now able to just list the players on Yahoo as FWD and D?

We'll use the positions that Yahoo uses, CHI.
** Attention LAM's, please check everyone's log in history to ensure no one's gone rogue. ** NYI, for example, hasn't checked in for 24 hours. Can someone contact him? I have to step ou for a moment. I'll have my phone. My responses won't be as quick, so bear with me, gents.

If they have played 42 games or more.

Wait, so let's say Player X has not played 42 games but based on scouting and such is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the NHL, we're not allowed to draft him until the prospect draft? Doesn't really make sense to me...

I don't know, Spoke. How many prospects are guaranteed a spot? There are established pros who aren't guaranteed a spot. Prospects, way more often than not, usually get a cup of coffee. The type of prospect with the talent to make an NHL roster doesn't come around too often. With that in mind, it doesn't make much sense to go on projections.

Fair enough, I guess I meant more in terms of my personal evaluation... If, in my opinion, the player is guaranteed a spot, I can't pick him unless he's played more than 41 games? If that's the case that's fine, I just want to make sure I understand...

Correct, Spoke. We have to draw the line somewhere. Don't really want to see a GM or GMs having 1/2 a team or most of a team with prospects that won't compete.
If you think the guy can make the jump, be sure to draft him in the prospect draft. And if he makes the jump at 42gp, you promote him after releasing someone from your pro roster.

do we have a hard date for when we are staring the draft?
Also, did we decide on reverse order of the NHL Player draft or another random draw for the order of the prospec draft?

Or maybe you are now able to just list the players on Yahoo as FWD and D? This is the tricky part of drafting before yahoo opens up. It's a guessing game with some players. Try your best bc it won't always work out As for the prospects and the 42 games. Hocus I saw you say at 42 games he can be called up, can someone be called up before he hits 42games. Example: I draft Hopkins in the prospect draft. Can I call him up at day one of the season if he is on the team?
