i just think the whole thing with age/games is so confusing and takes so much monitoring. i think we should stick with the 41 for skaters/goalies. makes things easier and less policing.

How though, NONE of the guys picked were 41 and under, so if we lower it to like...idk, 25+ or under, it won't mean a thing, it just gives us a wider variety to choose from, for NHL ready guys. Plus, if they are 24 or younger, they are supposed to be considered prospects automatically unless they have played more then 45 games, such as Hall, Duchene, etc. i think it would change something. bc one of those said players might have been drafted earlier making everyone shift there picks and everyone taking someone different. i think its impossible to change this season. maybe next offseason we can change it up.

Yeah, I mean, I will say right now that one of my picks would've been different... not trying to prove a point at all, in fact it's the reason I insisted on clarifying the rule before the draft... there was (and is hahahah) one player I really wanted but who has played less than 41 games, so I am hoping he's still there at #5 in the prospect draft

this is how i would have it...
Forwards and Defenseman who have played less than 42 games in the NHL are considered prospects...
Goalies who have played less than 25 games are considered prospects......

^ Guys don't think we don't understand because we do and we want to make everyone happy and keep all of you guys. Its just too unfair to change after this much time and when the rules have been posted almost since day 1. When it comes to back ups with under 41 games we all know that means they could easily and a lot of times are sent back to the AHL where because of age and games played they are still considered prospects. That's why the rule is in place.

So I'm on my phone so I'm just goin g to quote this hear instead of the draft discussion thread but here is where the 8hr window on the weekends comes into play. Then we started voting to change te clock I the draft but in the end went back to what we had of 4hrs. Guess I figured the weekend clock wouldn't change or back to what we had the 8th time slot for weekends Excellent discussion, guys. How 'bout we extend the window on weekends to 8 hours. I, too, don't want someone milking it per se', but that should be ample leeway. It boils down to communication. And if someone has to go to work, a wedding or something like that, we can wait. The draft isn't a life/death situation. However, time is valuable, and it sucks to be committed, checking in all day only to see someone milking. Granted, there will be times when we'll need to use the entire clock, but i've been involved with some that develop the bad habit of making others wait for long durations of a day, and that's simply not cool. We can respect people's lives by PM'g myself, the TM's and the person who is after you if this example ends up being you. With all of this said, we need time limits to reinforce, and keep things moving, and also add some predictability for people to gauge when their pick may be up. Okay...thanks for finding this NJ. With LAK's moving situation, VAN's upcoming weekend and us being in rd 21 of 25, I'm not liking an 8hr OTC for weekends. We're better off at 4 hours, and not slowing down with 8. I'm also not too happy with how some have handled contacting the next two GMs - I'll have to consult with the LAM's and TM's about this inactivvity, which is also a violation of the draft rules. This particular rule - contacting next. 2 GMs has never been altered. Unfortunately, people aren't doing it like they should. As far as weekend otc times, at minimum, 8hr OTC is 3 picks a day; whereas a 4hr window is 6 picks a day. The aforementioned are reasons why I am scrapping the weekend 8 hour OTC.

What greatly hurts the odds of this happening is LAK moving from 08/28/11 (today) - 08/31/11 (Wed). A week long freeze is just too long, imo, though.
