If he has played in 41 games or less he has to be selected in the prospect draft. Hey guys serious proposition here. I really think we should lower the GP for goalies as 41 is too high. Certain good young goalies all have over 30 games in the NHL and definetly are NOT prospects.... they are long passed that stage, i really think 25 games and under for goalies would be a much better amount. There is no way these guys shouldnt be available for the draft. That's a real tough call... (by the way, no naming names of undrafted players ) Some of the guys you mention are tabbed starters for this year while others aren't and have never been... You're saying make them all eligible? I don't know....

^ I already did it, but could you mod posts like that before you quote them. Thanks.
Well either way you are going to be losing out on a pick/player if you want a young goalie.
One way you get the player right away and lose the pick and the other way you pick a player and draft the tender in the prospect pool then have to promote him full time and drop someone else or drop the tender.

^Yup, sorry - I think we should leave it at 41 personally, if only because the draft is already under way. Seems like it's too late to change draft parameters...

I think we NEED to change it. There are anointed NHL starting goalies who aren't at the 41 games mark. That's ridiculous. Those guys aren't prospects. They should be taken in the standard draft.

Its not like has had an affect on anyone's draft, none of them should be high picks or anything near that... but they are definetly worth picks in the standard draft and are well beyond prospects... we need to make a change and we need to make it sooner rather than later.

As I said to Adam in the chat, I'm up in three picks, and I'm not picking until this is fixed. This rule is HORRIBLE -- gamebreaking, even.

No change guys. I almost had G at 163. I'm not changing again.
Prospects are 41GP and under. The draft is well under way. If there's a player you want real bad, draft him early in the prospects draft. 25 man rosters.you'll gladly drop some 4th liner from your main roster and add a prospect to replace the vacated prospect spot.

STARTING NHL GOALIES SHOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THE PROSPECTS DRAFT. IT IS NOT ABOUT "A PLAYER YOU WANT REAL BAD." IT IS ABOUT DRAFTING NHL PLAYERS IN AN NHL PLAYER DRAFT.

yeah usually i see 40/20 split but again i dotn think it matters so much. the early picks in the prospect draft will get lucky. now thats 40/20 on the low in. in alot of leagues i am in we have 200/100 or 250/150. so i think in any case great to good players will always be available in the prospect draft.

^ Exactly. Makes it more worth it.
Add to it the fact that 40 + times people could have been choosing someone else and changing the rules 3 rounds in is unfair to everyone.
We don't want to lose anyone if we can help it.

its true, this needs to be lowered. Real prospects are considered to be prospects if they have played NINE games or less in the NHL. 41 games is like half the back up goalies and 3rd/4th liners for the teams. We'd have more guys as prospects that don't deserve to be there. Guys like Marcus Johanssen or all the draftee's this draft should be the only guys eligible.

the problem is nw its way too late to change it. we had a talk about prospects and to be honest its simple just having it 41 games played. prospects can be defined as far out players or guys right on the door step. thats the luck of the draw.

thats stupid. 41 games played is a lot of guys that aren't prospects or anywhere close to it.

and it was going to be 163 gp for goalie prospects. so i dont understand this 41gp as being a problem. so many leagues set what they want.
this one set that. not really sure what the big upset is and why people are laeaving the league for this
